New industry standard for the oil and gas industry

The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) has launched the Joint Industry Programme 33 (JIP33). This creates a new industry standard for equipment purchasing in the oil and gas industry.

The aim of this new IOGP industry standard is to achieve a significant reduction in costs and durations in major projects. It is also intended to facilitate project execution. Behind the IOGP are the large and well-known companies in the oil and gas industry and thus important customers and users of LESER safety valves.

Within the framework of JIP33, more than 40 specifications have been published so far, of which the following are particularly relevant for LESER:

  • S-730 specification for flanged safety relief valves, which is based on the API 526 standard
  • S-563 specification with requirements for materials for piping and fittings including safety valves.

LESER supports its customers and their standardization efforts from the IOGP initiative. First orders have already been successfully delivered by LESER according to IOGP requirements. We expect this new industry standard to affect many projects in the future and are prepared for it.

For inquiries with IOGP requirements, please contact us directly. As Product Manager of the API Product Group, Martin Wichern from the Product Solutions department is your first point of contact (wichern.m@leser.com) regarding the new IOGP standard. You can find more information here.
