RAMSEYER is ready for take-off

LESER partner RAMSEYER supports the Academic Space Initiative Switzerland (ARIS) with technical consulting and provision of safety valves and rupture discs.

“The research location Switzerland is close to our heart! For Switzerland to remain competitive in the international market, its innovative power must be strengthened. The diverse research projects at the numerous universities form an important foundation for this”, says Beat Geissmann, CEO at RAMSEYER.

RAMSEYER was allowed to support the project team ARIS (Academic Space Initiative Switzerland) in the implementation of its ambitious rocket research project. The technical consulting and provision of LESER Safety Valves and Schlesinger bursting discs were an essential contribution to the overpressure protection by means of nitrous oxide for the refueling system as well as for the latest rockets in the project LEA 2022 (Liquid Engine ARIS).

Part of the ARIS project were LESER Safety Valves type Compact Performance 4374 do 10 PN250 Long Version as well as Schlesinger rupture plugs with thread G 1/4'', which allow a space-saving installation and are suitable for high pressures. LESERs Safety Valves are versatile and thus also fulfilled the requirements for the applications of ARIS.

In the last international competition "Spaceport America Cup" in New Mexico, the Helvetia-Rocket from Team ARIS, supported by RAMSEYER and LESER, then showed an impressive performance:

  • a determined flight altitude of 10.4 km
  • a maximum speed of 1.2 Mach
  • after the mission (ascent) a successful landing with the help of a parachute
