Critical Service Type 447B - the conductive version
LESER expands the Critical Service product group with a conductive version for hazardous areas - the Type 447B. Lined with black conductive PTFE (B = Black), Type 447B is ATEX compliant (Atmosphère Explosible) and can be used in such hazardous areas.
With its PTFE lining, the Critical Service product group is an economical alternative to nickel-based materials for corrosive media. However, the white, untreated PTFE can become statically charged and thus act as a source of ignition. Therefore, the standard Type 447 design is not part of LESER's ATEX manufacturer's declaration.
Conductive versions of PTFE-lined valves account for half of the demand. However, LESER's current solution is not competitive due to lead times of 10 to 12 weeks and a price premium of ~55% over the white PTFE version. LESER therefore sees additional market potential for a fully standardized, conductive version of Type 447 with shorter lead times.
The new Type 447B will be available within four weeks and is less expensive than before. The price is thus only 30% higher compared to the white type.
