New generation of production machinery

In August 2025, a state-of-the-art Hessapp DVT200 dual-spindle turning machine took the place of two EMAG VLS units which had reached the end of their service life after more than 20 years. This marked the beginning of a new era for the Factory of Safety Valves in Hohenwestedt.
The machine combines a vertical and a horizontal spindle, allowing parts to be fully machined on a single unit. This solution supports cost-effective production of flat components such as spring plates, guide discs, loose flanges, lift bells, and valve seats. Despite the small machining volume, the entire process is fully automated: secondary processes such as deburring, labeling, and placement in containers are fully integrated.
Thanks to the advanced tool technology and a large raw-parts storage system, the machine can operate for up to four hours without any personnel present. The production time per component has already been reduced, for example by 25 percent for spring plates. For the first time, LESER has commissioned a new Siemens One Control system, a leading-edge operating concept that significantly improves machine operation, diagnostics, and data integration.
Integrating the new machine has interlinked production and logistics more tightly: components are already placed in container boxes automatically. Transport to the cleaning station is still done manually, but this will be handled by an autonomous transport robot in the future. This will seamlessly integrate production into the automated logistics chain.
