LESER safety valves for Ship Building

Requirements for safety valves for ships

In classical shipbuilding there are two areas of application for safety valves. On the one hand, there are all systems necessary for ship operation, for example steam, water, fuel and lubrication systems. On the other hand, there are all systems necessary for the transport of liquid or gaseous goods, for example chemicals, oils and gases (LNG/LPG), with FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit), which combine all the requirements of tough everyday maritime life and petrochemical plants, representing a particular challenge. The focus here is on the need for corrosion protection, which is met with materials such as duplex and special coating systems. In addition, a comprehensive documentation and inspection program is expected. Certification by ship classification societies and short delivery times for spare parts are further requirements.
