LESER Germany: Start of construction at the Factory of Safety Valves, Hohenwestedt
Construction of the new production hall at LESER in Hohenwestedt has begun. LESER is investing 41.3 million euros in a 15,000 m² production hall to increase production capacity, which is currently 150,000 safety valves per year.Above-ground construction started in October 2024. Completion of the building is slated for early 2026. The new hall will house state-of-the-art production areas, a cafeteria, and an office section. Sustainability is high on the agenda: Photovoltaic arrays will be installed on the roof, and the building will be heated by air-source heat pumps. The building is designed for certification to the KfW 40 low energy consumption code.Rearranging the machines and equipment will ensure a more efficient material flow and shorter lead times. LESER also plans to use mobile robots and automation to reduce error-proneness and redeploy skilled employees to areas where they are needed more urgently. The building expansion project will raise the modernization standard of the Factory of Safety Valves and strengthen the LESER Hohenwestedt facility’s position as Europe’s biggest safety valve manufacturing site.
